All details will be visualised, so that you as a client looking for your Spanish dream home will know what to expect. While the agreement for the sale is drawn up with the owner and the details of the house are noted, our colleague takes photos. We can sell the house, but he has another use for the tractor. ![]() ![]() Is the tractor for sale? The man’s smile says it all. He added this later on, so that he could shelter his old tractor. Then we walk up the fixed stairs, and here too, each room has its own story.įinally, the man shows the large garage. A bit of dust off and you have a beautifully authentic place in the middle of your house. Of course, we cannot ignore the huge built-in wine barrels. The man even shows us the room where they slaughtered a pig so that the whole family could eat from it for another winter. But you feel the energy and fantasise about how people used to live here. No, there is no kitchen, no bathroom, no living room. After this, the man lets us in to the main house, with several rooms. You can clearly see the user marks but the thick walls show that the construction of the building is in order. The man tells us how his mother baked bread here. We enter a first room with an old bread oven. It must be a wonderful sight when it is dark, with the illuminated church towering above the houses. We enjoy the wide view you can even see Vélez Rubio through the mountains from here. First we walk across the land around the house. We drive on a little further and then we arrive at the cortijo. The man gets out, takes the lock of the chain hanging over the road and says: From here on our land runs. A few hundred metres further on we are asked to stop. If it has rained once, you only have to call and the road will be smooth again. We don’t have to worry, the municipality maintains this camino well. Just in time, he shows us the road we have to take and after half a kilometre, we come to a dirt track. In the car, the old man tells us about his life in the cortijo just outside the village. On the day of the visit, the owner gets into the car to show us the way to the house where he grew up and where he has many fond memories. “…We make an appointment to visit the 100 year old cortijo and do not expect too much of it, after all, the building has not been lived in for 40 years. Do you remember the story of the old man who told us about his cortijo (rural house) on the terrace? Below you can read how the purchase visit went: And then we set off, camera and drone to hand, and of course full of attention for what the owner is proud to show us. We discuss our working method with the owner and request the necessary documents. And whether people come to us on the terrace in Vélez Rubio to offer their house for sale, or whether we have found a house on the Mediterranean Sea ourselves, the first step is to schedule an appointment for a buying visit.
